Multi Skilled Technician

Department: Facilities Management Division

Perform a wide variety of maintenance-related activities. Multi-tech conducts the Electrical, Plumbing, Air conditioning, Carpentry, Civil, and Appliance corrective maintenance within the specified time, disposing of waste, and ensuring all tools are kept clean during and after work.

Job Details

Internal:

  • FM Supervisor

  • Any other individuals/departments within the company required to support the Site Contract.

External:

  • Management of the Subcontractors/Suppliers operating on behalf of Mirage PFM as required.
  • Has good attendance and punctuality.
  • Apply procedures for each task as per instruction of FM Supervisor.
  • Completes work within expected periods of time.
  • To conduct corrective maintenance (CM) works as follows:

 

Air-Conditioning:

  • Checking the thermostat settings for temperature control (when the air-conditioning system is not cool)
  • Check the A/C panel box, control panel, etc.
  • Replacement of all AC spare parts – motorized valve, compressor, fan motor, etc.
  • Checking all AC repair works in Package, AHU, ERU, FCU, split AC, VRV, VRF.
  • Checking of all kinds of Exhaust & Fresh air Fan repair works.
  • Checking of chilled water pumps.
  • Checks routinely for correct operation of all equipment in locations that include BMS control systems.

 

Plumbing:

  • Checking of Water Heater Tank
  • Checking of water pressure and temperature settings
  • De-clogging of choked WC, kitchen sink water outlets, long-bath waste water outlets, and toilet wash basin, waste water outlets, floor traps
  • Tracing and making sound water leakages at any water fittings such as faucets, hot and cold water inlets/outlets pipes, wastewater outlets
  • Dismantling and replacement of any faulty/unserviceable faucets, hot and cold taps, kitchen taps, shower taps, and other water fittings items such as floor traps, washbasins, kitchen sink outlet covers, and WCs
  • Tracing and making sound water leakages hidden above the gypsum false ceiling panels
  • Fault tracing and making good of WC water closets and component replacement for problems such as inability to flush, low water level, flushing handle not functioning
  • Checking of all kinds of potable & nonpotable pump repair work.

 

Electrical:

  • Inspection/removal and replace if necessary any kind of faulty light fixtures and bulbs including transformers, wiring works, hot-wire touching metals and exhaust fans including all necessary making good upon completion
  • Inspection for electrical short circuit/removal and replace if necessary all faulty wall sockets, power points, light wall switches, water heater switches, water pump switches, air-con power switches, circuit breakers including all necessary making good upon completion
  • Checking, dismantling, trouble shooting of kitchen appliance.

 

Carpentary:

  • Minor rectifications works including replacement if necessary for any faulty room door ironmongery fittings such as locksets and hinges, all associated connections and joints for built-in timber wardrobe, timber kitchen cabinet fittings, damage timber panels, door frames, timber window frames, aluminum window frames, wire mosquito nettings, etc including making good upon completion.

 

Civil:

  • Making good any wall plaster minor cracks including chipping, sanding, re-plastering and re-painting including all necessary cleaning up upon completion.
  • Removal and replacement of any damage/crack ceramic wall tiles, ceramic floor tiles, ceramic wall skirting including all necessary making good upon completion
  • Removal and replacement of any damage/crack/dislodge gypsum board cornices, ceiling, access panels including any re-painting works and making good upon completion
  • Adjust, maintain, and repair tools, equipment, and machines, and assist technicians with similar tasks.
  • Adjust, connect, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts, using hand or power tools.
  • Clean or lubricate machinery, equipment, instruments, tools, work areas, and other objects, using hand tools, power tools, and cleaning equipment.
  • Hold or supply tools, parts, equipment, and supplies for other workers.
  • Prepare work stations for use by other maintenance technicians.
  • Tend and observe equipment and machinery to verify efficient and safe operation.
  • Apply protective materials to equipment, components, and parts to prevent defects and corrosion.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. 
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. 
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language, and prepare and review information in a variety of formats accurately and completely. 
  • To keep hospitality and good relationships with the tenants at all time.
  • To attend guest request and requirements as promptly as possible
  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Assist everyone in lifting materials, equipment, including paint materials, cement that require two (2) persons to do it. 
  • Non refusal to “other task” instructed by FM Supervisors that will help completing the work.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and a consistent pace, with rotational direction.
  • Ability to learn new tasks and learn to operate production equipment.
  • Strong observation skills, detail orientation, can catch errors or inconsistencies.

Language:

  • Fluent in English both written and speaking.
  • Arabic speaking would be an advantage.

Specialized Training/ Knowledge Required:

  • Building construction, Demolition and deconstruction
  • Electrical & Plumbing
  • Masonry & Carpentry and painting.
  • HVAC.
  • Education in technical studies or equivalent qualification with previous experiences in a similar role. 
  • Knowledgeable in building maintenance, safe operation of basic hand and power tools along with workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
  • Experience in Building Construction works.
  • Must be able to work in hot, cold and wet conditions and be able to stoop, kneel, crawl, and climb on all types of surfaces.
  • Good in written and spoken English. Arabic is an advantage.
  • A team player with ability to work under pressure.
  • Demonstrates well-developed communication skills including the ability to perform effectively in a multinational team environment.

Minimum 3 years’ progressive experience as a Multi technician in real estate, hotels and related industries.
